Add to favoritesWith its grandeur, charm, and rich history, Ripaille is one of the largest residences on the French shores of Lake Geneva. The site is now open to the public and serves as a premier heritage and environmental interpretation center in Haute-Savoie. The Château de Ripaille is a former manor house dating from the late 13th or early 14th century, located in the commune of Thonon-les-Bains, a French commune in the Haute-Savoie department of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. The castle has been listed as a historical monument since July 11, 1942. The entrance pavilion, the Bonne de Bourbon tower, the pavilion and cell of the Carthusians, the buildings known as the Priory and Saint-Michel, the ground of the main courtyard, the rural buildings of the former Carthusian monastery (mill, hayloft, laundry, pigsty, farm, barn, forge, kennel), the Walnut Tower and the bastion of the perimeter wall have been listed as historical monuments since November 19, 1991.
