About Parc Asterix
Add to favoritesThe Indomitable Adventure Located in the heart of the Chantilly Forest, this park is a vibrant celebration of the iconic comic book. Divided into six themed areas (Gaul, the Roman Empire, Ancient Greece, the Vikings, Egypt, and Through Time), it stands out for its unique atmosphere where self-deprecation and wordplay reign supreme. While Parc Astérix is world-renowned for its breathtaking roller coasters like Toutatis (the tallest and fastest in France) and OzIris, it hasn't forgotten its poetic side, with meticulously crafted scenery that literally transports visitors into the comic book panels. The experience isn't limited to the roller coasters: it also includes live shows blending stunts, humor, and interaction with animals. The Gaulish Village, the park's vibrant heart, offers the chance to meet famous characters and discover faithfully recreated wooden huts with thatched roofs. This park cultivates its uniquely French character by emphasizing a typically French conviviality, a far cry from the sometimes more sanitized standards of international parks, offering a perfect blend of pure adrenaline and shared laughter. Gastronomy is treated with the same festive spirit. The highlight is undoubtedly the Gaulish Banquet, an open-air dinner show in the heart of the Village where you can savor wild boar (roasted or in a terrine) in an atmosphere reminiscent of the end of an Asterix comic book, surrounded by Asterix and Obelix. You can also enjoy regional specialties, such as Breton crêpes or meats grilled over a wood fire. For lighter appetites, don't miss the chocolate menhirs or the generously filled "Gaulish" sandwiches, all washed down—in moderation—with local craft beer.
Tip for an even more exceptional visit.
To enjoy the main attractions without spending three hours in the cold queue, download the app and adopt the "reverse flow" strategy: as soon as the park opens, don't stop at the Gaulish Village at the entrance, but head straight to the far end of the park towards the Egypt area (OzIris) or the Toutatis Festival. Another Gaulish secret: if you want to see the characters without queuing at the photo spots, settle down on a café terrace in the Village around 11 am or 4 pm; they often wander around freely, greeting the tourists.
